The Friesian registry only allowed foals to have names that start with letters assigned to the year. For example, 2009 was a D, E, or F year. Next year, 2010, is G, H, or I.
Five Ster Friesians like to name their foals after brand names or mythological figures. I talked to students to see what names they could come up with!

“The Ethics of Breeding: More than a popularity contest” is an article written by Jos Mottershead and published in the Oct/Nov 2009 issue of Friesian Blood & Baroque Horse magazine. Friesian Blood & Baroque Horse is a magazine for those who love its namesake—Friesians and baroque horses. Other baroque breeds include Lusitanos, Gypsy Vanners, and Andalusians.
